After the detailed investigation of infertility, the IVF expert advised to go for IUI which is generally known as Intrauterine Insemination. Intrauterine insemination should be the first step for the couples who have unexplained infertility. He informed me that they will inject my husband’s semen directly into the uterus, in order to help conceive naturally. We had attempted three IUIs which were unsuccessful. We were told by the local gynecologist that the IVF is the only option for us to get pregnant. However, like many infertile couple we were unable to afford the process.
Taking a path of IVF at WellSpring
While researching about infertility and IVF on the Internet, I came across the WellSpring IVF and Women’s Hospital and discovered their second opinion and affordable IVF cost in India. It was quite a commitment for us as we lived in Ahmedabad and have to drive just 10 kilometers for each appointment.
Right from the beginning, I was told that mine would likely not be an easy case. I have only one ovary as one was removed due to a large cyst, so I would be only producing only half of the number of eggs during the treatment.
After consulting with Dr. Pranay Shah, my husband and I decided to give the IVF cycle a try with their free second opinion and affordable finance option. Dr. Shah had explained me about the entire IVF process which helps me to understand the process and cope up with the challenges that I have to face throughout the procedure.
The other day, I have been given ovulation stimulation injection which matures the eggs in the ovaries and increase the ovarian follicles. After 12 days I have been scheduled for the egg retrieval procedure. I was excited to discover that 5 eggs had been retrieved during my egg retrieval process and even more excited to find that all five eggs had been fertilized after introducing my husband’s semen. After few days, the fertility team contacted us and informed that out of the five eggs, and only one embryo survived and has made it to blastocyst state. I was devastated to know that only one embryo survived and made it to the last step of IVF which is embryo transfer.
Successful IVF after single embryo transfer
At this point, I was disappointed as I knew we only had only one chance of achieving pregnancy. The embryologist at the WellSpring IVF suggested us to choose the embryo freezing option and go for the freezing embryo transfer process. But my disappointed transformed into hope when the embryologist suggest us a way to increase the possibilities of pregnancy with just a single embryo.
He informed us that the frozen embryo has higher chances of getting adapted to the uterus and thus higher possibilities of successful pregnancy. My husband and I selected the Frozen Embryo transfer which might cost us approximate Rs. 20,000 extra, as we would not want to take any risk to our only embryo. The only left embryo has been frozen and then thawed before transferring into my uterus. To complicate the matter, I was told that due to my hormone levels this was not an ideal cycle to implant only one embryo, but as per the treatment protocol, I could not wait for another cycle and had to proceed with the transfer at that time.
On the day of embryo transfer, Dr. Shah injected medications which help to stimulate the pregnancy hormones into the body. The gynecologist guided me before performing the transfer. It was just like the trans-vaginal ultrasound. Everything was as smooth as conducting the ultrasound. The transfer took place in April 2018 and eight days later, I received the news that I was pregnant. Against all odds it had worked.
After becoming pregnant I was in the strict care and guidance of the fertility team. Each and every team member guided me what to do avoid the chances of miscarriages. I was regularly monitored and checked through the ultrasounds. The regular visits to the hospital were one of the best experiences towards parenthood. I can remember each and every visit and how politely and gently the staff and doctors treated us. Then on the 10th week, I was transferred to the local gynecologist until I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.
My IVF journey WellSpring truly a blessing
I attribute this to the incredible care and state-of-the-art treatment that I received at WellSpring IVF and Women’s Hospital. Throughout the entire treatment process, the doctors and staff treated me and my husband with utmost respect and compassion. Every aspect of the care we received was explained to us and everyone we came into contact with right from IVF expert to lab techs, they helped make us feel comfortable, genuinely cared about during a very stressful time. I had a normal and healthy pregnancy and my healthy 3.050 kilograms baby was born on 12st December 2018. She is now a happy 5 month old baby and is an absolute joy. She has hit every development milestone early and is absolutely thriving.
If it were not for the talented doctors and staff at WellSpring IVF, my beautiful baby would not be here today. For this, I am beyond grateful and would highly recommend WellSpring IVF and Women’s hospital as the best IVF center in India to anyone willing to have a family. My experience with WellSpring IVF has truly been a blessing.

My husband and I had been trying to conceive for about 2 years, but failed to conceive naturally. One of my husband’s colleges recommended us to consult with a fertility expert. We decided to consult with the fertility expert as we desperately want to start a family. After undergoing from detailed physical examination and the he advised us to conduct a series of blood tests, laparoscopy and ultrasounds in order to find out the exact reason of infertility. All these tests failed to conclude any sort of infertility and it is still unexplained by the doctors.
